Class Descriptions

  • Ageless yoga is a great place to begin or build upon your yoga journey no matter your age or condition. Beginners and seasoned yogis alike are welcome, as well as prenatal and postnatal students, seniors, and those who may be suffering from an injury or illness.

    This class is specifically geared to students who may have mobility, balance, flexibility, and strength limitations, and would benefit from a supportive class structure. Slow, mindful movement can be highly effective for those who are stiff, prone to or recovering from injury, or have preexisting conditions such as arthritis or Parkinson’s disease. With an emphasis on the functional movement of all major joints, alignment, and breath, this class will work the entire body to enhance strength, stability, and mobility in a safe and systematic way.

  • barreYoga features a fusion of ballet-inspired Barre, core-centric pilates, and the fluidity of a Vinyasa flow to offer a fun and effective full-body workout. This dynamic and all-encompassing class allows you to increase endurance, strength, and flexibility all at once with extra emphasis on the core, pelvic floor, and posture. Come prepared to be challenged both mentally and physically, and leave feeling empowered and energized.

    No previous barre or yoga experience is required; options are offered for all levels.

    Studio notes: In this class, students may utilize a combination of bodyweight, light hand weights, foam rollers, resistance bands, pilates rings and balls in addition to traditional yoga props such as straps and blocks to sculpt, strengthen and lengthen muscles.

  • Bhakti yoga is the practice of devotion and offers an opportunity to add depth and dimension to your practice. A dynamic Vinyasa flow is the core of a Bhakti Vinyasa class, inviting students to move with intention and in rhythm with the breath. This soulful style of yoga is rooted in yogic philosophy and wisdom, and infused with mantras and insights on how to expand your yoga practice beyond the mat and into everyday life. Classes begin and/or end with live harmonium music and beautiful kirtan (melodic Sanskrit chanting) to set the tone for an uplifting journey into mind, body, and spirit. Bhakti is a celebration of and surrender to the divine within each and every being. Come with an open mind and heart, and leave feeling revitalized and reinspired.

  • Build & Release: Hips, Low Back, & Core is a non-flow class that invites students to focus on creating stability while also releasing and stretching tight muscles to feel more balanced in the body. We will aim to build awareness, strength, and flexibility in the areas where many experience pain and tension – the hips, lower back, and the core.

  • Breath-Based Vinyasa invites students to embrace their breath as the central focus of their pre-established vinyasa flow practice. In this class, the instructor will cue the breath and demonstrate asanas synced to music to create the experience of a magical meditation in motion. With less guidance on alignment and transitions, this class is ideal for advanced practitioners who feel comfortable and confident in their ability to keep themselves safe while practicing with less instruction and oversight.

  • A coreFlow class offers the fluidity and full-body workout of a Vinyasa style flow class with a focus on developing strength and stamina within the deep core muscles of the abdomen, back, and pelvic floor. While yoga poses address the entire body throughout class, specific exercises are incorporated to engage these essential muscles which work together to stabilize the spine, support internal organs and body systems, and promote overall health. This invigorating class will help you build vitality from within for optimal posture, enhanced stability and balance, and improved functional mobility. Challenge your body and mind and support your yoga practice as a whole as you reconnect with your center and empower yourself from the inside out.

    Important: This class is not appropriate for pregnant women or brand new mothers who have not yet been cleared for exercise by their physician. It is also not recommended for those with high blood pressure and/or glaucoma.

  • Happy Hour Yoga offers the opportunity to unwind after work with a fun, flow-style practice. Happy Hour classes feature the fundamentals of flow-style yoga and can be Vinyasa or slowFlow in nature depending on the instructor’s individual approach. Students will concentrate on the asanas (poses) and sequences common to most flow-style classes while also exploring the essential connection between movement and breath. Work to build stamina, strength, and flexibility at a comfortable pace and deepen your personal practice all before the sun sets.

    Note: Often, the teachers of Happy Hour Yoga classes are recently qualified graduates from yoga teacher training. While all levels are welcome, is recommended that students have some yoga experience, though it is not required.

  • kidsYoga & Mindfulness is a playful, active, and engaging experience that invites children to connect with their bodies, minds, and peers with curiosity and compassion. Children will explore yoga asanas (poses) and mindfulness practices through movement, stories, songs, games, partner and group activities, and more. Though each class is unique, themes and activities are designed to present age-appropriate challenges and opportunities to practice facing obstacles and regulating emotions through intentional movement, breathing techniques, grounding exercises, meditation, and more. Children will learn how to develop essential self-care strategies, gain valuable self-awareness, and build self-confidence that extends beyond the yoga mat and into everyday life. Classes will also include meaningful lessons about respecting oneself, community, and the environment – all while having fun with friends!

    Note: Children from pre-kindergarten to third grade are welcome to join us for kidsYoga. We recommend that children are dressed in comfortable, active clothing and wear shoes that are easy to take off and put on. Parents or guardians are asked to equip children with a yoga mat and water bottle and are encouraged to join a Happy Hour Yoga class while - a full hour of yoga at half-price in our second studio.

  • In a mindfulFlow class, students are invited to enjoy a gentle and intentional flow-style asana practice with the incorporation of mantras, affirmations, and mindfulness practices. Yogis are encouraged to dedicate their practice to their personal Sankalpa or "heart's desire" to infuse their practice with meaning and deepen their connection with themselves. Find authentic alignment on and off the mat in this peaceful and purposeful practice.

  • Our New momBaby Group class welcomes all expecting and post-partum moms to an enjoyable experience that incorporates movement, conversation, and community.

    Navigating through the physical, mental, and emotional changes of becoming a mom can be challenging. Join us for activities designed especially for prenatal and postpartum moms and their babies. In New momBaby Group: Stretch, Strengthen, Support, and Socialize, we focus on our pelvic floor and core, stretch and strengthen our muscles, correct our posture, and find our breath to support our changing bodies.

    We also take our shared time and space to celebrate the highs, learn from the lows, and embrace all that happens in between. Additionally, we’ll discuss parenting tips and tricks to build a supportive localized parenting community. Enjoy an easy and safe opportunity to move, breathe, and connect with other mamas and yogis.

    Participants are encouraged to bring blankets to lay their babies on and dress comfortably for movement that includes getting low to the ground.

    This class is desired for mothers at any stage of pregnancy from prenatal to postpartum. Newborn to pre-crawling babies are welcome.

  • moonYoga is a grounding, cooling, and calming practice designed to counterbalance the highly active, fast-paced, heated, and often stressful qualities of contemporary life. This unique practice invites you to open up, expand, and bow down to the moon’s comforting lunar energy through breath, dynamic stretches, and therapeutic movement. Lubricate the joints, loosen up muscles, and liberate the body and mind through slow sequences featuring forward folds, inversions, twists, and longer holds in asanas to replenish and revitalize energy. Explore new challenges, restore balance, and find expansion with moonYoga.

  • Prenatal & momBaby Yoga is intended to empower women preparing for and recovering from childbirth and provides a unique opportunity to bond with baby and a friendly community of families all while enjoying the benefits of yoga for body and mind. The majority of the class is dedicated to strengthening, stretching, and toning for mom with key considerations and attention to the pelvic floor, posture, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to connect, share, and learn from one another's experiences surrounding pregnancy, labor, and the fourth trimester within a safe and supportive environment. Babies are welcome to sleep, cry, coo, play, and feed as needed throughout class.

    Expecting mothers and parents or guardians with babies from six weeks to crawling are welcome to join. No prior yoga experience is necessary.

  • Prenatal & Postnatal Flow is specially designed to support women preparing for or recovering from childbirth. This flow-style class aims to build the physical and mental stamina needed to endure childbirth through strengthening movements, strategic stretches, and breathwork. Physical and mental relaxation practices are integrated to help release the tension that builds from carrying and birthing a baby, as well as techniques targeted at restoring the body after childbirth.

    It is not necessary to have practiced yoga before attending these classes. All prenatal, postnatal, and women in general are welcome.

  • In a Restorative Yoga class, students can expect to practice four to six floor poses held passively for ten minutes or more. Restorative poses are supported with props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks, allowing the body to surrender into ultimate relaxation. In this effortless state, one can gently shift from doing to being and the mind is invited to find serenity in stillness.

    Restorative yoga is intended to invoke “the relaxation response,” which restores balance to the central nervous system. This highly therapeutic practice helps to relieve tension, anxiety, and fatigue as well as deepen the breath, reduce stress hormones, and regulate heart rate and blood pressure. Release tension in your body, refresh your mind, and restore your energy in this calming class.

  • If you’re just getting introduced to yoga or simply enjoy a slower-paced practice, slowFlow classes offer a more grounded approach to exploring asanas (poses). Featuring foundational elements of asana, flow-style sequencing, and an emphasis on safe and mindful transitions, slowFlow invites you to fully embody each element of your practice. Enjoy traditional poses, guidance through essential alignment cues, and a sweet Savasana in this balanced and pleasantly paced class.

  • For those who are new to yoga or are seeking a slower-paced practice with ample opportunity to stretch, slowFlow and Stretch is an excellent option. Practice foundational asanas with slower-paced flow-style sequencing and find deep release with extra time dedicated to stretching. Experience a feel-good flow, relieve tension, and discover freedom in body and mind.

  • Clear the body and mind in slowRelease & Sound Bowls, a class designed to ease tension, calm the nerves, and soothe the soul. Through a medley of mindful movement, slow stretches, and guided meditation accompanied by the sweet serenade of sound bowls, experience ultimate release and encourage calm from the inside out. Find freedom from physical and mental constraints in this feel-good class.

  • Stretch, Flexibility & Mobility features both passive and active stretching and incorporates essential breathwork to support the body and mind throughout the practice. Release tension and stiffness in the regions of the body that tend to hold onto it most, such as the neck, shoulders, back, hips, and legs. Improve your flexibility, enhance your functional mobility, feel better in your body, and deepen your personal yoga practice in this class.

    Note: This is not a flow-style class.

  • Rise with the sun, sip in the breath, and awaken with mindful movement to begin your morning with a clear mind, soft heart, and fresh perspective to carry with you all day long. Sunrise Yoga classes feature gentle movement with a focus on the breath to bring forth focus, energy, and endurance. Start your day with a combination of stillness, sun salutations, and sweet sequences to set the tone for a fresh start. Practice first thing in the morning and face the worries of your world and the stresses of everyday life with grace, compassion, and strength.

  • Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic style of yoga intended to link breath to movement through mindful, flow-like sequences of asanas (poses). While there is no universal format that teachers must follow, the general philosophy of Vinyasa is to progressively open the body with sequences that build upon one another and evolve into deeper expressions as the practice unfolds. A combination of seated, standing and supine poses, resetting “Vinyasas” and Sun Salutations are integrated to lengthen and strengthen the body, improve balance, increase flexibility, enhance range of motion, promote focus, and evoke mental clarity. A Vinyasa Flow class usually closes with a restful Savasana to rejuvenate the body and mind.

    Each instructor shares their own perspective of the practice, offering a unique tone, tempo, and theme for their class. Similarly, each individual student may interpret Vinyasa differently. Please remember all offerings are optional and you should cater your practice to what works best for you.

  • After establishing a strong foundation in vinyasa flow, progress your practice with Vinyasa — Intermediate (Level 2/3). In these classes, instructors typically offer fewer demonstrations and less detailed guidance for poses as students are often already familiar with alignment and transitions. The class itself moves at a faster pace and includes asanas such as arm balances, inversions, and deeper backbends. Creative and challenging sequences offer students an opportunity to explore and expand their practice alongside peers who are also seeking to grow in yoga.

    This class is ideal for students who feel comfortable and confident in their ability to keep themselves safe while practicing with less instruction and oversight.

  • Experience the elegance of ballet infused with the breath-based flow of yoga in this unique Yoga Ballet Fusion class. Each session is designed to creatively elevate your yoga practice and boost your self-confidence through fluid choreographed yoga sequences. Move dynamically to music as you connect with your inner beauty excitingly and expressively, and let it radiate outward. 

    This class is offered as a theme-based series influenced by the seasons and lifestyle inspirations. See specific class descriptions within our schedule to discover the theme for the current series. Students may purchase a drop-in for a standalone class or take advantage of the Yoga Ballet Fusion package to participate in a full series.

  • yinYoga is a gentle practice designed to address the deep connective tissues of the body, especially in and around the joints, through passive poses. Yin yoga poses are performed while seated or lying down and often utilize props such as bolsters, blankets, and straps to set up and support the body. With bodyweight alone, yin yoga allows you to apply light pressure or stress to targeted areas. Safely stimulating stiff connective tissues helps to promote healthy elasticity and enhance the flow of energy throughout the body. No muscular energy or effort is exerted in the poses. Instead, the intention is to ease into each pose so that you can surrender into each shape comfortably for up to five minutes. Yin yoga is a calm, quiet practice which typically begins with meditation and ends in an extended Savasana for ultimate relaxation.

    Note: Yin yoga is generally not recommended for those who are already hypermobile naturally or temporarily, as is common during pregnancy. If you fall into either category, please consult with your doctor before practicing Yin yoga and alert the instructor so that he or she can offer a safe practice for you with alternative options if necessary.

  • Yoga nidra, often called yogic sleep, is a meditative practice that uses attentive awareness to achieve deep relaxation. Flowing through a series of mind-body awareness exercises, yoga nidra induces a state of alert rest that renews body, mind, and senses. Surrender to stillness as you journey through the many layers of your being to embrace your wholeness and expand your consciousness to the insights and interconnectedness of the universe.
